All of the Branches of the Sonoma County Library accept and greatly appreciate donations of books. Items donated will be subject to the same procedures/considerations for materials purchased for the collection. The process of reviewing the material would be taken on by the librarian selector for that subject area. All items taken for consideration become the property of the Sonoma County Library and would not be returned to you if they are not added to the collection.
Items not added to the collection are typically given to the Friends of the Library for one of their book sales. All proceeds go toward the purchase of additional materials for that branch library.
How-To Central Santa Rosa Library
If you are wishing to drop off books at the Central Library in Santa Rosa please do so by coming to the back of the library and placing them under the awning of our loading dock area during normal business hours.
If you would like a receipt for your donation, please come into the Central library during normal business hours to our Reception area, and the person staffing that post would be happy to provide you with one.
