OverDrive has announced that Mac users who upgrade to the newest macOS Catalina will no longer be able to download and transfer MP3 eAudiobooks from OverDrive.
On September 4, OverDrive prematurely took away the download option for MP3 eAudiobooks. They have apologized for this mistake and the inconvenience it has caused. As a result, OverDrive is working as quickly as possible to restore the download option for MP3 eAudiobooks to users running macOS 10.6 (Snow Leopard) through 10.14 (Mojave) and hope to have this restored by October 2, 2019.
PLEASE note that downloads and transfers of MP3 eAudiobooks will not be available after users upgrade to macOS Catalina.
